Manages the functions in the Pharmacy related to Wellstar Roosevelt medication, supply, inventory control, preparing orders, and making rounds.
Job Summary:
Prepares unit dose and ready to use drug dosages from bulk packaging in accordance with departmental policy and procedure. Prepares and restocks all crash carts, Automated Dispensing Machines (ADM), and designated IV trays on floor. Ensures cycle counts, expiration tracking, cleaning, and other assigned tasks are completed as required in a timely manner.
Checks the expiration date on all meds in the facility whether in pharmacy, ADM, or crash carts. Rotates stock to maintain a first in first out process. Assist with inventory and helps to order medication and supplies. Manages ADM inventory to ensure meds are available after hours while delegating space for meds with current orders or most commonly used. Communicates with pharmacy team about expiring products and attempts to move items approaching expiration to be used if possible.
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, assists the pharmacist, as required, in routine duties which do not by law require pharmacist completion. These include, but are not limited to, cart fill, ADM refill pulls, ADM stock maintenance, inventory maintenance, and data tracking. Assists technicians, pharmacists, or Pharmacy Management with additional assignments or varying tasks as necessary or requested. Responsible for correct labeling of ADM shelves, pharmacy bins, hazardous meds, etc.
Ensures aseptic, correct preparation, checking, and delivery of all intravenous preparations. Verifies the completion and documentation of laminar flow hood cleaning and maintenance. Verifies all medication storage systems. Submits daily logs for all compounded medication. Monitors and records refrigerator temperatures as required and attempts to resolve issues when applicable. Reports any maintenance issues promptly to Pharmacy Director or pharmacists and inputs maintenance requests.
Makes timely rounds to the floor delivering medication and picking up any returns. Credits any returned medication to the patients when applicable. Delivers reports including physician auto-stops, discrepancy sheets, and IV sheets, etc. Ensures NDCs are scanned into electronic system and ADM. Conducts all written and verbal communications in a timely and professional manner 100% of the time. Reviews and follows all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Certified Pharmacy Tech
Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in Pharmacy Required.
Minimum 1 year experience in Hospital Pharmacy Preferred.
Required Minimum Skills:
Organizational skills, typing, math skills. Required
Proficient in Word, Excel. Preferred
