Job Summary:

Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the hospital to include disinfecting, stripping, buffing, and waxing floors, cleaning surfaces, mopping, cleaning carpets, delivering stock, and waste disposal. Requires an understanding of cleaning for infection control and of proper handling and disposal of bio-hazard waste.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Maintain the facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings. Fills in as needed with janitorial duties in offices, therapy, and patient rooms.

• Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.

• Inventories and delivers stock to the floors upon its arrival

• Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, carpet cleaner, polishers, buffers, etc. maintaining all floors including waxing as needed. Keeping all machines clean.

• Clean all air vents, stairwells and elevators.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

• OSHA Hazard Communication (within 6 months of hire date)

Required Minimum Experience:

• 1 year(s) or more of experience in hospital EVS, particularly floor care Preferred

Required Minimum Skills:

• Knowledge of floor machines and waxing Preferred
