Under a Physical Therapist's guidance, the Physical Therapy Assistant will help plan and implement programs to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion in patients with injuries or illnesses. Services are delivered efficiently, focusing on quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Core Responsibilities:

Provision of Care:

  • Follow physical therapy treatment plans under the Physical Therapist's direction.

  • Choose and apply appropriate treatment activities to meet patient goals.

  • Update goals and care plans with the Physical Therapist and patient/family.

  • Educate and train patients and families throughout treatment.

  • Provide discharge instructions and referrals as needed.

  • Serve as a resource for staff, families, and physicians regarding rehab services and equipment.

Documentation:

  • Record each treatment session per departmental protocols.

  • Submit required documentation, including family education and discharge notes, on time.

Requirements:

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy required.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant required upon hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required upon hire.

Required Experience:

  • At least 3 years of Physical Therapy Assistant clinical experience required.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Customer service-oriented and a team player.

  • Basic computer proficiency.
