Job Summary:
This person plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between healthcare professionals, patients, and various stakeholders by accurately translating medical documents, reports, and written content from one language, English, to another, Spanish. The Translator ensures that written medical information is conveyed with precision and clarity, maintaining the integrity of the content while addressing linguistic and cultural nuances. Accurate and efficient translation of medical documents will be carried out to enhance patient comprehension and adherence to treatment plans including medication instructions.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Translation of Medical Documents: - Translate a variety of Wellstar medical documents, including but not limited to patient records, medical reports, research papers, pharmaceutical documents, educational materials, signage, MyChart Messages. - Ensure accurate and faithful representation of the original content in the target language, considering both technical medical terminology and contextual meaning. Linguistic and Cultural Adaptation: - Understand and adapt to linguistic and cultural differences, ensuring that translated content is contextually appropriate for the target audience. - Stay updated on medical advancements, terminology, and industry-specific language to provide accurate translations. Collaboration with Medical Professionals: - Collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and subject matter experts to clarify any ambiguous or complex medical terms and ensure accuracy in translations. - Attend regular training sessions to stay updated on medical terminology and industry-specific knowledge. Quality Assurance: - Conduct thorough proofreading and quality checks to verify the accuracy, consistency, and coherence of translated medical documents. - Revise and edit translations as necessary to meet quality standards. Confidentiality and Ethics: - Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines, especially when dealing with sensitive medical information. - Uphold ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of the translation process and maintaining professional conduct. Deadline Management: - Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines for translation projects without compromising quality. - Communicate proactively with project managers and team members to provide updates on progress and potential challenges. Technology Utilization: - Utilize machine translation tools and software effectively to enhance productivity and maintain consistency in terminology.Required Minimum Education:
High school diploma Required Bachelor's Degree Translation, Linguistics, or a related field, with a focus on medical translation PreferredRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
