The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Cardiology Critical Care Nights is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses – are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

Facility: Kennestone Hospital

WellStar Medical Group is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for busy and well established cardiology group. Manage and coordinate the healthcare of critical care cardiology patients, in the inpatient setting, at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Hospital in Marietta, located approximately 25 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, GA. This is a full-time dedicated night opportunity.

Responsibilities

In this role you will collaborate with other health care providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and family.


Perform admissions, transfers and discharges for the cardiology patients. Actively participate in the daily medical management of patients. Become thoroughly competent in all aspects of stress testing. Document, maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information in our EMR system (EPIC). Other duties as assigned.


The Wellstar Center for Cardiovascular Care is the largest and most comprehensive provider of cardiovascular services in northwest Georgia. The Center includes 10 hospitals and 26 office locations throughout metro Atlanta. Our 90+ physicians and 85+ APPs provide care for the entire spectrum of cardiac patients (surgery, structural heart, advanced heart failure, EP, advanced imaging, complex intervention, ECMO, and research).

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education

  • Required Minimum Experience: Board Certified/Board Eligible Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
  • Required Minimum Skills: Previous APP Critical Care Cardiology experience preferred.
