Job Summary: Reports to the Executive Director, Operations Plans, organizes, implements and manages the activities, the policies and procedures associated with supply chain cycle for the WellStar Distribution Center. Oversee the provision of supplies to user departments by directing receiving, warehousing, distribution, and transportation staff. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Operational Leadership - Maintains receiving, warehousing, distribution, and transportation operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. - Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; implementing and monitoring warehouse organization and cleanliness policies, inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. - Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. - Provides support, recommendations and assistance to standardize products and expedite discrepancies to reduce supply dollars expenditure.. - Develops, implements and enforces departmental policies and procedures. - Develops, reviews and revises department manuals and job descriptions. - Assists with directing courier/transportation processes for WellStar. This is inclusive of storage requirements at various locations. - Monitors the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods; - Develops and analyzes metrics to monitor and improve performance and customer service - Allocates and manages staff resources according to changing needs Safety/Regulatory Compliance - Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. - Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols along with associated responsibility/function/expectation Inventory Control - Coordinates Operational activity with Inventory Analyst Control Coordinator to ensure that CSC Inventory goals are achieved, while maintaining target levels of customer service. Customer Service - Resolves interdepartmental complaints and/or issues. - Maintains good relationships with system departments by providing inservices, management assistance and open communications. - Routinely schedules visits with customers for input on service and customer relations. Personnel Development - Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; follows up on work results. - Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. - Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. - Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Required and Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
    Additional License(s) and Certification(s):Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 5 years managerial experience required in a Distribution Center environment Required or Minimum 10 years experience required if Bachelors Degree is not complete Required and Experience within a hospital system environment preferred Preferred and Experience with a Warehouse Management System Required and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required Required and Knowledge of Tecsys Preferred and Lawson systems preferred Preferred and Knowledge of receiving, warehousing, distribution Required and inventory control principles required Required Required Minimum Skills: Supervision, Developing Budgets, Safety Management, Developing Standards of Work, Managing Processes, Surveillance Skills, Inventory Control, Reporting Skills, Analyzing Information , Equipment Maintenance, Judgment-Microsoft office basic skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
