Overview

The Rehabilitation Aide is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses – are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

Facility: Douglas Hospital

Job Summary: Non-professional personnel working under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech-Language Therapist. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting therapists with age appropriate patient treatment, support admin duties for Therapists (as needed), and general departmental duties in the area (s) of Rehabilitation Services. Adheres to system and department policies and procedures. Incorporates the philosophies of continuous quality improvement, customer service and teamwork into daily routine. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Assisting Therapists with age appropriate patient treatment - Occasional, maybe required to provide a 'second-set-of-hands to assist treatment 75% General Admin Support for Therapists 10% General Department Duties in the Area of Rehabilitation Services - Maintain a Safe and Clean Patient Care Environment - Maintain All Equipment - Ensure the availability of all Supplies 15% Required Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent experience Required Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):Required Minimum Experience: Patient related experience Preferred Required Minimum Skills: Good communication and time management skills Familiar with medical terminology Ability to prioritize and complete multiple job tasks.
