Job Summary:

The Food is Medicine Program leader is responsible for overseeing initiatives that combine food, nutrition, and health to improve the overall well-being of community members who require additional support to manage their health. Their role encompasses a range of duties vital to the successful implementation and operation of the program. The Food is Medicine Program leader plays a multifaceted role that includes managing nutritional programs, collaborating with clinical teams, engaging with the community, evaluating outcomes, and advocating for health equity. These efforts are aimed at improving health outcomes for individuals through targeted nutritional support and education.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Administrative Coordinate program meetings for internal and external stakeholders. Create and maintain standard operating procedures for programs, to include guidelines for staffing, communications, and reporting. Draft and review program messages, to include memos, press releases, short reports, social media drafts, and other announcements. Provide on-site assistance at various program events as needed. Provides support and assistance to department leadership for Community Health programs. Oversight of program partner communications. Data Management Complete program data entry to internal databases and retrieve data from external partners as appropriate. Produce high-level reports of program plans, activities, and successes for involved partners. Maintain listserv of program contacts and department partners. Ensure shared data is de-identified to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines. Event Management Oversee event coordination, to include space reservation, supplies acquisition, staffing, communications, and reporting. Serve as primary point of contact for event coordination related to the Food is Medicine program. Manage inventory of program equipment and supplies. Oversight of partner and vendor contract processing; on-site assistance with Community Health programs and events as needed. Financial Oversee program budgets to include reviewing and tracking daily/monthly reports, preparing check requests, processing purchase requisitions, managing and reconciling specific purpose accounts. Process daily deposits, cash/check/credit card expenses for programs, services, and memberships. Order and maintain supplies and materials for programs with proper documentation and approval. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Health Administration or Bachelors Business Administration/Management or Bachelors Other or Masters Business Administration/Management-Preferred or Masters Health Administration-Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Project Management training Upon Hire Preferred and

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 3 years of project management related Required and Experience in Healthcare Required and Experience in working with projects/ process improvement with significant focus on program development and data management Preferred Preferred

    Required Minimum Skills:

    Experience with data collection, analysis, report formatting, as well as oral and written presentation of analysis. Experience with project planning including the development of project plans and timelines. Must have ability to be self-directed and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment Proficiency in applications including, Word, Excel PowerPoint, Access and other data management and project management software required.
