Wellstar Medical Group, part of the comprehensive Wellstar Health System, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our General Ambulatory Cardiology team in Austell, Georgia. This role involves providing high-quality cardiovascular care in an outpatient setting, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals. The APP will help manage a broad range of cardiac conditions while supporting patient education and chronic disease management.
Responsibilities:
Perform cardiovascular assessments, routine follow-ups, and disease-specific evaluations in the ambulatory setting.
Manage common cardiac diagnoses such as hypertension, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and dyslipidemia.
Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as ECGs, stress testing, echocardiograms, and labs.
Provide patient education on lifestyle modification, medication adherence, and disease self-management.
Collaborate with cardiologists and support staff to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care.
Maintain accurate documentation in Wellstar’s EMR system in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Participate in care team meetings and contribute to ongoing quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Georgia.
National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Preferably 1–2 years of experience in cardiology or internal medicine; new grads with relevant clinical rotations will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in outpatient cardiology or chronic disease management.
Strong interpersonal and clinical decision-making skills.
Proficiency in electronic medical records and comfort with team-based care delivery.
