Wellstar Medical Group, part of the comprehensive Wellstar Health System, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our General Ambulatory Cardiology team in Austell, Georgia. This role involves providing high-quality cardiovascular care in an outpatient setting, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals. The APP will help manage a broad range of cardiac conditions while supporting patient education and chronic disease management.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cardiovascular assessments, routine follow-ups, and disease-specific evaluations in the ambulatory setting.

  • Manage common cardiac diagnoses such as hypertension, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and dyslipidemia.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as ECGs, stress testing, echocardiograms, and labs.

  • Provide patient education on lifestyle modification, medication adherence, and disease self-management.

  • Collaborate with cardiologists and support staff to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in Wellstar’s EMR system in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in care team meetings and contribute to ongoing quality and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.

  • Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Georgia.

  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).

  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

  • Preferably 1–2 years of experience in cardiology or internal medicine; new grads with relevant clinical rotations will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in outpatient cardiology or chronic disease management.

  • Strong interpersonal and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and comfort with team-based care delivery.
