Job Description
Job Summary:
The supply assistant provides assistance with performing the day to day activities of the supply chain service line. This includes maintaining an adequate inventory of medical supplies and keeping the staff informed about the availability and needs of the department. Assists the nursing staff with the stocking of equipment and supplies in the patient rooms monitors PAR levels for medical supplies and works in a proactive manner to assist the department with the daily activities of supply ordering/processing.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Ensures there is an adequate inventory of medical and office supplies for daily operations of the ED including from central and noncatalog supplies. Works with vendors for quotes, ordering, and delivery. Keep supply closets clean and organized.
Receives and verifies accuracy of all orders from Central distribution as well as rotating stock while putting it away. Cleans refrigerators and microwaves on a regular basis.
Equipment, furniture and Zone maintenance to include inspection, cleaning, turning in for repair or reporting to the appropriate person to coordinate the repair. Surplus any broken or unnecessary items. Check oxygen / Nitrous oxide for needs and storage.
Clean/Sterilize (High-level disinfection) of scopes and other appropriate equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma General or GED General
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 1 year inventory management experience required. Required or
Minimum 2 years in Hospital/Emergency Room stocking experience Preferred
Required Minimum Skills:
General office skills, typing and grammar skills, communication skills, organizational abilities, detail-oriented, working knowledge of computer software databases, spreadsheets, and operating systems
Medical Office and advanced computer skills- preferred
Prior experience in hospital or military inventory management- preferred
Efficiency training (LEAN, Just in Time, etc) desired- preferred
