Job Summary:
APP-2 (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-2) works within the specified department or Services will function as an integral part of the healthcare team. Serves various roles including working directly alongside faculty and staff, providing care to the entire spectrum of patient acuity levels, working semi-autonomously, and serving as a provider to initiate appropriate care, including laboratory studies and/or imaging as indicated, at the front end of a patient's visit.
The primary responsibility of the Otology APP is to provide and direct care for patients in the clinic. Responsible for maintaining the quality-of-care standards for all procedures and clinical care provided in clinic. Provides Medical and Surgical care under the supervision of the Medical Director of Otolaryngology and their individual collaborating physicians. Provides care in accordance with standardized policies, procedures, and protocols.

Required Minimum Education:
Nurse Practitioner - Master's Degree in Nursing. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body or currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of GA by the Georgia Board of Nursing Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required. Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support(BLS). Must be fully credentialed by the credentialing office to work.
OR
Physician's Assistant - Graduated from an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Licensure to practice medicine through the GA Composite Medical Board Must maintain status as a certified PA, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education and re-cert. Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required. Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support(BLS). Must be fully credentialed by the credentialing office to work.
