Position Summary:

Maintains principles of proper food production and other related activities. Prepares and cooks foods, such as: meats, soups, sauces, gravies, starch entrees, vegetables, and special orders. Ensures food is prepared according to menu; confers with supervisors as to the use of leftovers; making menu changes, as necessary. Maintains high standards of food handling and cleanliness in work area and is responsible for high standards of personal cleanliness. Helps provide optimal food and nutritional services to the patients, visitors, and staff.

Position Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years or more of experience in food service or cook position. Able to follow standard practice or oral/written instructions. Able to read and write, use simple arithmetic and keep simple records.
