Wellstar is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our integrated primary care team. The successful candidate will work alongside medical providers to deliver comprehensive mental health care to patients in a primary care setting. This role is ideal for a therapist who is passionate about holistic, patient-centered care, and collaborative treatment within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide brief, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders.
  • Conduct screenings and assessments for mental health conditions as part of routine patient care.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, case managers, and other specialists to develop and implement integrated treatment plans.
  • Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
  • Offer consultation and psychoeducation to primary care providers and medical staff on behavioral health topics.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and facilitate appropriate referrals for patients in need of specialized or more intensive services.
  • Document patient care activities and progress in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) in accordance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in integrated care and mental health treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in GA.
  • Experience in providing mental health services in a medical or integrated care setting is preferred.
  • Training or certification in brief, evidence-based interventions and crisis management is desirable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
  • Knowledge of diverse mental health issues and cultural competency in providing care to a varied patient population.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation.
