Job Summary:

Primary responsibility of the position is to support & manage all Citrix environments, maintain proactive performance monitoring of the environment utilizing specific monitoring tools, proactively monitor capacity utilization of Citrix environment to ensure adequate growth for future projects, and play an active, hands-on role in the day-to-day support activities, administration and projects associated with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop infrastructure/applications. The Citrix Architect will partner with various functional areas to provide strategy, problem-solving, technical architecture advice and guidance, and project management for select IT systems. This position will be accountable for identifying key business changes and implementing the developing technical solutions as needed. The Citrix Architect assists the in the development of the overall application, data and infrastructure blueprints, standards. The Citrix Architect must have a broad view of the entire organization. The Citrix Architect will work in a team environment developing enterprise IT technology strategy and providing a technology vision aligned to changing business priorities through thought leadership, processes, structure and value delivery. Ideal candidate will have architected large-scale, highly transactional virtual, storage, and data center solutions. Must not be so theoretical they cannot develop practical and cost-effective solutions to day-to-day problems. Responsible for the architecture, implementation and support of Citrix environment including Netscaler components, thin clients & smartcards. This position will provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support for Citrix environment. Proactively monitor Citrix & virtual environments for capacity, stress, risk and workload and take necessary remediation steps. Regularly participant in the planning and implementation of new projects. Ensure Business Continuance in relation to Disaster Recovery policy. Continuously seek opportunities to optimize the Citrix environment to improve performance and maintain system high reliability, availability, and resiliency levels and ensure stable performance. Participates in the planning, implementation of major software and hardware upgrades and mandatory security/OS patches, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed. The Citrix Architect will also have led large technical project teams and design and implement computer network architect using servers, which act as the brains of a network. Assists senior management in the development, maintenance, and communication of an information infrastructure for organization-wide operations that will create substantial added value for the enterprise. Contributes as an individual or with a few professionally capable assistants. Emphasizes technical detail for client servers, data center, virtualized, and storage platform infrastructure environments. Designs appropriate computer platform, common and utility software, workstations, and communication linkages required to support required work processes and information flows. Design systems that integrate corporate, central, distributed, and client server systems to maximize utility and minimize cost. Evaluates new or enhanced technologies that could improve current systems and support overall corporate goals. Develops complex designs by total current annualized information technology and service expenses of the unit(s) served. The successful candidate will understand the needs of the business in the short, medium and long-term and is able to assist in defining an architectural "roadmap" for overall development, while aligning the "roadmap" with business requirements and fostering strategic innovation.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

The Citrix Architect will work (in conjunction with the Enterprise Architects) with all levels of management and other departments to assist them in developing solutions to meet business requirements using advanced technology solutions. * Assists in developing accurate representations of the business environment, strategy and critical success factors. * Assists in defining the target architecture at a given point in the future that is necessary to support the business mission and strategy of the organization. * Assists in preparing formal proposals, capital and operating budgets for the recommended architecture. Assists the Chief Enterprise Architect in developing the data center, storage, and virtual technology strategy and vision to support key business processes and needs by determining the optimal IT architecture, level of investment in tools and technologies. * Develops server, data center, and infrastructure architectural standards. * Define enterprise-wide documentation standard for architectures deployed. * Develops / maintains the documentation for the technology standards that define what technologies and products are approved to be used within the organization. Complimented by prescriptive enterprise-wide guidelines on how to best apply these technology standards in supporting business applications. * Assists in defining and maintains policies and principles relevant to the approved architecture. Measure the business impact of architecture with business and technical metrics and assess the current state of maturity of the architecture. * Assists in performing vitality process to ensure architecture continues to reflect the organizational needs and technical opportunities. * Under the direction of the Chief Enterprise Architect guides the overall architecture and implement solutions meeting the needs of the defined strategic project. Assists the Chief Enterprise Architect in preparing detailed roadmaps to successfully implement the technology strategy. * Works closely with vendors to obtain detailed proposals and quotations. * Assists with negotiating competitive and favorable pricing. * Makes formal presentations to Senior Management on the targeted strategy. * Works with IT Leadership to prepare detailed implementation plans. * Provides routine reports to the and Chief Enterprise Architect on project status. * Develop architectural artifacts based on TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, Zachman, and FEAF framework. * Prepare technical and executive presentations to present the Executive and Senior Leadership * Prepare technical assessments, request for information (RFI), and request for proposal (RFP), system architectural artifacts. Keeps appraised of emerging technologies to evolve enterprise IT architecture with more efficient and effective standards. * Is a visionary presenting new ideas and options to IT Senior Management. * Is a technology guide to the IT Technical and Applications staff. Integrate architecture between legacy systems and new technologies. * Develop and maintain the architecture, working with other team members to ensure consistency and completeness. Enhance professional growth and development through education programs, workshops or other educational opportunities that may be presented. Keep abreast of current events. * Demonstrates the ability to learn and improve architecting skills by actively participating in education programs. Performs additional duties as assigned. Required Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree of Computer Science, Information Systems Preferred or related field Preferred and Ten + (10) years of equivalent work experience in-lieu of education will be considered. Required

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 5 years experience managing/implementing/supporting Citrix App/Desktop architecture. Required and Minimum 10 years experience with Citrix XenApp/Desktop networking, storage (SAN), Server Virtualization back-up strategies, Data Center operations, and server technologies Required and Familiar with architectural artifacts based on TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, Zachman, and FEAF framework and Healthcare experience Preferred and Experience with disk SAN, virtualization of desktops and servers. Required

    Required Minimum Skills:

    WAN/LAN, System Administration (MicroSoft, Linux, Unix and Novell), workstation hardware and software. Detailed knowledge of server platform technology. Thorough understanding of security standards, knowledge of database products and utilities, comprehensive knowledge of server architectures. The individual must be able to communicate and have good team building skills. Self motivator and strong leadership qualities, multitasking and problem resolution.
