Supports the Director of Accounting in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department and the overall goals of WellStar Health System. The Senior Accounting Analyst will provide management with useful and accurate financial information on a timely basis.

The position must have a good understanding of A/R posting and G/L theory. Routine responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preparing and recording journal entries and account reconciliations, verifying and posting details of business transactions, performing system balancing, preparing audit schedules, cash and bank reconciliations, investigating problems and issues as they arise, and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Required Minimum Experience: Minimum of two years in finance or accounting.

Preferred Experience: Minimum of five years in finance or accounting, preferably in healthcare.

Required Minimum Skills: Expert Level with Excel (i.e. high proficiency in filters, V-lookups, pivot tables). Experience with high volume data manipulation. Excellent technical and computer skills. Must be able to communicate well with employees at all levels and across disciplines. Must be able to handle multiple duties simultaneously with attention to detail. Must be very organized, flexible and adaptable. Highly motivated and works well independently.  Enjoys problem solving and troubleshooting.
