Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate BC/BE Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon to join our prestigious medical team. As a Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients who require reconstructive surgery due to congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, or disease. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the quality of life and restoring functionality for patients through innovative surgical techniques. Kennestone is a level 1 trauma center located in Marietta, just Northwest of Atlanta and has the busiest Emergency department in the state.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations to determine the need for reconstructive surgery.

  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on patients' specific conditions, medical history, and desired outcomes.

  • Perform surgical procedures to reconstruct or repair defects in various parts of the body, including the face, hands, breasts, and extremities.

  • Utilize advanced surgical techniques such as microvascular surgery, tissue expansion, and flap reconstruction to achieve optimal results.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care and ensure the best possible outcomes.

  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including monitoring patients' progress, managing pain, and addressing complications as needed.

  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, expected outcomes, and post-operative care instructions.

  • Growing and sustaining a Plastic Surgery Service Line that reports to the Chief Surgical Officer of the System with a plan to establish growth metrics and a marketing plan to allow expansion of services

Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.

  • Board certification in Plastic Surgery with a focus on Reconstructive Surgery.

  • Current state medical license and DEA registration.

  • Proven experience in performing complex reconstructive surgeries.

  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fellowship training in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery.

  • Experience with cutting-edge reconstructive techniques and technologies.

  • Research experience and contributions to the field of Plastic Surgery.
