Job Summary:
The Breast Health Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the overall clinical functions, programs, and activities of the Comprehensive Breast Health program. Other responsibilities include: management of system and departmental policies and procedures and clinical competency trainings; serving as clinical subject matter expert and resource/support to staff; lead special projects with a clinical focus; deliver community health and wellness presentations in the community; act as liaison to related clinical areas within the system including the department Medical Director. It is expected that the Breast Health Nurse Manager is licensed, and knowledgeable and upholds the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. It is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals in community-based settings throughout Wellstar Health System.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Department Leadership and Program Supervision a. Oversee and supervise day-to-day operations of the Comprehensive Breast Health program throughout Wellstar Health System, across all markets. b. Effectively organize and prioritize work demands in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. c. Interface effectively with all levels of individuals within Wellstar and externally in the community, including physicians and health-related vendor suppliers. d. Ability to collaborate and self-start in the areas of program development and implementation, data collection and analysis, and outcomes reporting. Assist director with strategic planning for areas of oversight. e. Take an active role in facilitating and promoting employee engagement and team trust; demonstrate and promote teamwork and collaboration for engagement and retention of all team members. f. Serve as department Safety Coach; communicate safety updates and information regarding infection control practices to staff, monitor staff compliance of infection control practices, and support safety initiatives. g. Provide communication to staff as needed on department and organizational updates. h. Serve as liaison with department Medical Director and key physician partners. i. Serve on internal and external committees and associations that are assigned by director. j. Perform other duties as assigned that assist in growth and success of the department and system. k. Oversee and assist with department needs as assigned by director. Human Resources Management, Professional Development and Initiative a. Interview and select team members and provide continued support to develop, coach, counsel and mentor. b. Complete mid-year and annual evaluations. c. Coordinate and utilize current reward recognition program for team members. d. Oversee completion of professional competency requirements and education. e. Facilitate continuing education/learning/growth opportunities for team member development. f. Evaluate and manage employee performance and discipline in accordance with Human Resources Policy and Practice. g. Coordinate team member volunteer opportunities for health screening events through the CAPS, MA Ladders and GME programs. Evidence-Based Practice and Research Management a. Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research and performance improvement (PI) in nursing. Participate in activities such as value analysis as part of the decision making process in evaluating patient care products and screening equipment/supplies. b. Uphold healthcare system and departmental policies and procedures and clinical competencies put forth by Wellstar and professional associations including legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards including The Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar safety absolutes. c. Ensure compliance to regulatory agencies CLIA, DHR, Dept. of Labor, TJC, HIPPA compliance, etc. Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentially of all data collected in accordance with compliance requirements. d. Oversee and track participant and program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes and results. Create outcome-focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives. e. Oversee, update and create department specific protocols, policies and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders with the healthcare team to achieve best practice outcomes (i.e. health prevention and promotion; awareness and risk assessment of breast conditions; etc.). f. Responsible for participant follow-up and documentation of all abnormal screening results. g. Assess effectiveness of current interventions and enhance delivery methods to reach targeted populations with greater impact and outcome measurements. h. Coordinate, lead and execute compliance training and assessments for all clinical staff and maintain records of completion. i. Manage development and distribution of clinical patient education materials. j. Monitor nursing practice and assist with facilitation of PI process relative to care delivery in Comprehensive Breast Health program. k. Participate in data collection; pose relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence-based practice. Consult appropriate experts and use appropriate resources and evidence to address practice questions. Provide data as requested to hospital departments for accreditation purposes. l. Oversight for all quality assurance practices required for accuracy of medical equipment Financial Management a. Develop annual budget plan creating accurate and realistic budgets for ongoing programmatic activities. b. Submit monthly budget reports to director. c. Assist with the development of marketing plans to promote and drive participation to programs and services. d. Oversee invoicing, billing and payments for services as applicable. e. Maintain/coordinate inventory of clinical supplies; monitor resource expenditures for equipment and supplies; support efficient and effective use of resources. f. Manage time and attendance for direct reports and other personnel as assigned. Trust/Engagement (Mandatory Content) a. Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing Required Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing PreferredRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
- Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 3 years nursing practice that includes management of staff and sufficient clinical and process management experience to ensure competence RequiredRequired Minimum Skills:
