Job Summary:

The Massage Therapist functions under the direction of the Massage Supervisor and is responsible for providing a professional and effective massage to Health Place members and outside clients. Also, responsible for conducting chair massages during health fairs or special events as well as providing presentations on massage and stress management as needed. Assist with developing promotional materials for massage as well as market the program.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Provides safe, effective, and relaxing massage to each client. - Perform appropriate massage techniques and time scheduled for client satisfaction. - Maintain appropriate massage etiquette. - Keep the room a safe environment for all clients - free of clutter or oils/lotions on the floor. Consistently provides a friendly and professional introduction of him/herself and explains the massage process to each client. - Meet the client at the front desk and walk them to and from the massage room. - Confirm the type of massage service purchased. - Provide the client with a towel and/or water upon the completion of their massage for client comfort. Inquires about clients’ needs and personal comfort. - Triage the client appropriately after reviewing their health history in their file. - Allowing the client time to prepare and recover from their massage. - Address all client concerns appropriately. Consistently keeps the massage room in a neat and clean environment. - Arrive 15 minutes before the massage appointment to set up massage room. - Stay 15 minutes after all appointments to change bed linens, restock sheets and towels, and put away supplies. - Keep accurate and thorough SOAP notes on each client. - Maintain accurate files and updated client information. Demonstrates willingness to perform in Health Fairs and department functions when necessary and promotes to increase appointment and revenue. - Perform chair massage services at off-site locations upon request. - Promote and market for massage services upon request.

Required Minimum Education:

High school diploma Required or GED Required and completion certified Massage Therapy course work (min. 500 hrs). Required

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

Lic Massage Therapist 1.00 Required Basic Life Support 2.00 Required BLS - Instructor 2.00 Required BLS - Provisional 2.00 Required

Additional Licenses and Certifications:

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 1 year with preference for some experience in sports, pre-natal massage and clinical) but will train under supervisors’ discretion. Preferred

Display strong motivation for community outreach and working with people. Displays excellent health and wellness lifestyle. Exercise independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative when performing roles.
