Job Summary:

The Volunteer Services Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities of the Volunteer Program to include: coordinating the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers within the hospital/practice sites. This positionpartnerswithvolunteerstobuildrelationshipstoenhancetheoverallpatientexperience,supportthedelivery of high-quality, patient- and family-centered healthcare services, and contribute to the well-being of patients, their families, and the healthcare community.

Essential Functions:

1.  Coordinate day-to-day volunteers within hospital/practice sites. Recruit and interview new volunteers, training/onboarding, placing, evaluating, retaining volunteers. Oversee Logistics platform to manage hours, schedules, processes. Provides implementation and ongoing growth, development, and sustainability of volunteer engagement/programming; coordinates/measures success of programs/volunteers that support institution; works closely with departments to identify new opportunities; ensures TJC compliance.

2.  Recruitment and Selection:

Develop and implement strategies for recruiting/selecting volunteers based on hospital/practice site needs and objectives. Promote volunteer opportunities and collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other platforms to attract a diverse pool of volunteers. Conduct interviews and background checks to assess volunteers' skills, experience, and suitability for different roles within hospital/practice sites.

3.  Volunteer Training and Orientation:

Develop comprehensive training programs to equip volunteers with necessary knowledge and skills for assigned roles (specifically for special events). Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize volunteers with hospital policies, procedures, safety protocols, and patient confidentiality guidelines. Provide ongoing training and support to ensure volunteers feel prepared and confident in their responsibilities.

4.  Volunteer Placement and Supervision:

Collaborate with hospital departments/practice sites to identify areas where volunteers can contribute effectively and make a positive impact. Match group/volunteers' skills, interests, and availability with appropriate roles and responsibilities within hospital/practice sites. Provide guidance, supervision, and feedback to volunteers, ensuring they adhere to established protocols and maintain professional conduct.

5.  Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure that volunteers comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of volunteer hours, activities, and required documentation. Prepare reports and present findings. Regularly assess performance of volunteers, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend further training or adjustments to volunteer assignments as needed.

Education: Bachelors Degree

Required Work Experience:     1 years or more of experience in volunteer management, project, or program coordination.
