Job Summary:


The Community Engagement Director reports directly to the Executive Director of Strategic Community Partnerships and Engagement at Wellstar Health System, and is responsible for establishing, nurturing, and expanding relationships with key community stakeholders to advance the health and well-being of the populations served, and enhance the organization's reputation as a world-class provider of care, strong community leader and corporate citizen. This role is central to creating strategic partnerships that advance the organization's mission and goals through external partnerships. This position is responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives that improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve and involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate partnerships and programs that address community health and foster partnerships that drive sustainable impact. The position requires expertise in communications and public relations with a focus on advancing the organization's mission and goals through external partnerships.

This is for the Atlanta Market. NOT a remote position.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Strategic Partnership Development:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for community partnership and engagement that supports Wellstar's mission and strategic goals.
* Identify and prioritize potential community partners, including mission-aligned and non-profit organizations, business and civic organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, and corporate businesses, to collaborate on health and community-based initiatives.
* Cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders to drive mutual goals related to health promotion, disease prevention, and community wellness.
* Facilitate partnerships that collaboratively improve community health outcomes and leverage resources for greater impact.
Community Engagement & Outreach:
* Lead initiatives to engage community members, organizations, and leaders in health-related activities and programs.
* Design and execute outreach strategies to ensure Wellstars presence and influence in key community events, forums, and coalitions.
* Serve as a representative of Wellstar in community meetings, coalitions, advisory boards, and other collaborative efforts.
* Create opportunities to engage Wellstar leadership and team members with community partners through event/program participation, speaking engagements, leadership programs, corporate volunteerism and community service activities.
Collaborative Program Management:
* Ensure that all partnerships and initiatives are aligned with the specific needs of the community and Wellstars objectives.
* Plan, execute, and evaluate community outreach programs, sponsorships, and events that align with the organizations strategic priorities.
* Oversee the development and implementation of collaborative programs with community partners.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of partnership programs, making adjustments as needed to optimize outcomes.
* Identify opportunities for joint collaboration to support partnership initiatives.
* Manage partnership budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and responsibly.
Stakeholder Communication & Advocacy:
* Serve as the primary point of contact between Wellstar and its community partners.
* Facilitate regular communication and updates between internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment of goals.
* Advocate for the needs and priorities of the community within Wellstar, influencing internal decisions and policies.
Data & Impact Reporting:
* Collect and analyze data on community engagement efforts and partnerships to measure impact.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership, community partners, and other stakeholders.
* Use data insights to refine strategies and demonstrate the value of community partnerships.
Compliance & Ethics:
* Ensure that all community partnership activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
* Maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical behavior in all interactions and program implementations.
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Business Administration/Management or Bachelors Health Promotion or Bachelors Marketing or Bachelors Public Relations or Bachelors Other

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Required Minimum Experience:


    Minimum 8 years Experience in related field and leadership. History of building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships. Previous experience and success working in cross-functional work environments and demonstrated success in achieving collaborative goals. Preferred experience in working in healthcare or nonprofit sector. Required

    Knowledge of healthcare, community health principles, health equity and social determinants of health preferred.
