Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated and experienced PRN Pathologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pathology, providing accurate diagnoses and collaborating with clinical teams to ensure optimal patient care. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate varying patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic pathology services including gross and microscopic examinations of tissue samples.
  • Interpret laboratory results and communicate findings to clinical staff and healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to discuss patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance standards.
  • Assist in the training and mentorship of pathology residents and medical students.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of pathology reports and findings.
  • Stay current with advancements in the field of pathology through continuous education and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Georgia.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
