Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, a nationally recognized and comprehensive healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP)Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)—to join our Inpatient Advanced Heart Failure and LVAD Program. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in one of Georgia’s busiest and most respected hospitals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced clinical care to patients with advanced heart failure, including those with LVADs and other mechanical circulatory support devices.

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and manage treatment plans in collaboration with cardiologists, surgeons, and other team members.

  • Monitor and manage patients with LVADs, including pre- and post-implantation care, troubleshooting, and device education.

  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, coordinate care transitions, and contribute to patient and family education.

  • Serve as a clinical resource and educator for nursing and ancillary staff regarding heart failure and mechanical circulatory support care.

  • Assist with development and adherence to evidence-based protocols and quality improvement initiatives within the program.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Georgia.

  • Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-AG) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with inpatient cardiac experience strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiology or cardiac surgery, preferably with heart failure and/or LVAD patients.

  • LVAD experience preferred; HeartMate 3 training a plus.

  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

  • Excellent clinical, communication, and team-based care skills.
