Job Summary:


The Business Analytics & Insights Senior provides analysis services and project support to business partners through reporting, data analysis and dashboards. Acting with limited direction, the analyst functions as a subject matter and technical expert in financial solutions (Productivity, Benchmarking, Costing and Decision Support systems). As such, the analyst is responsible for assessing customer requirements, capturing relevant data sets, developing visual solutions, analyzing results and providing key customer focused insights. An outcomes driven position, the role is focused on providing knowledge and information combined with appropriate customer education that will translate into improved operations.
1. Coordinates, captures and synthesizes internal and external structured / unstructured data; including extract, transform and load processing for financial and operational data
2. Collaborates and promotes data governance; develops auditing tools and analysis methodologies to ensure data integrity; sets standard definitions and maintains data dictionaries and catalogs
3. Demonstrates deep data understanding relating data points to financial processes such as peer benchmarking, labor productivity, operational profitability, payor mix, overhead allocations and downstream impacts; relates to operational process improvement opportunities and executes with limited direction as appropriate
4. Attends meetings and daily communication sessions to keep abreast of project objectives, process workflows and progress of business concepts
5. Participates in special projects as required (external benchmarking surveys, internal business priorities, etc)
6. Functions in and accountable for highly sensitive data; maintains absolute confidentiality

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Operations and Maintenance of the Productivity, Benchmarking, Costing or Decision Support (PBCDS) solutions
a. Performs system operations for one or more PBCDS solutions following standard techniques, methodologies, tools and approaches with minimal guidance
b. Applies tried and true approaches to problem solving; assists others with maintenance and problem solving as needed
c. Creates and executes complex work plans involving assigned and external teams
d. Develops financial or human capital reporting and budgeting products with internal / external data sets using PBCDS solutions
e. Designs, develops and maintains user friendly dashboards using complex health care datasets; ; assists BI developers with customer designs
f. Participates in developing customer education programs; educates all levels of leadership on the interpretation and use of the PBCDS solution information
g. Monitors team KPI's and SLA's; challenges self and team members to improve SLA's
Customer Support
a. Recommends solutions based on past experiences or analysis of problems within team; understanding the ramifications of problems within own team or other teams and customer base; with limited direction, negotiates a mutually agreeable expectation to issues
b. Follows appropriate path on when and who to contact at vendor and manage vendor tasks to resolution
c. Completes advanced research and analysis of complex issues; mentors peers on how to complete troubleshooting research; escalates when appropriate
d. Assists customers with process redesign and implement with moderate assistance; assists other team members as needed
e. Engages customers independently; develops customer requirement documents; reviews and provides guidance to other members of the team
Work Execution / Vendor Management
a. Serves as a vendor liaison and manages vendor entitlements for at least one vendor
b. Develops work and staffing plans for simple project or project with limited scope
c. Identifies action plans and potential solutions to address customer or technology concerns
Team Communications
a. Develops action plans for meetings and follow through on assigned tasks
b. Writes and reviews documentation and assists with the planning and preparation of policies
c. Produces concise decision documents; produces effective leadership focused presentations
d. Prioritizes and selects knowledge needed for team
e. Leads and plans team meetings, organizes morale building events within team
f. Works with leadership team to set team priorities where applicable
Technical Quality
a. Responsible for quality review of team projects and creating a remediation plan for any issues identified
b. Develops tools and defines goals to measure effectiveness of idea; communicates, analyzes and implements results as appropriate
c. Analyzes quality standards for tasks and provides feedback to coworkers; responsible for quality review of team projects and creating a remediation plan for any issues identified
d. With minimal guidance, develops, executes, monitors and remediates audits for information validation for PBCDS solutions
Finance
a. Assists with the creation of multiple project and or team budgets
b. Assists with and oversees the maintenance, adjustment and reconciliations of the budgets for medium to large projects and or teams
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education:


Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Healthcare or similar degree Required or
equivalent work experience in directly related, data analytics role. Required
Advanced Degree or Healthcare Specialty Program Completion Required

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Required Minimum Experience:


    Individual contributor in a team-based operation in technology, finance, human resources, management engineering or clinical operations. Required and
    5.5 year relevant experience. Required and
    Healthcare experience Preferred
    Specific knowledge of Kronos Analytics, Vizient ODB / CDB, EPSI, StrataJazz, RL Solutions and HR Analytics tools Preferred

    Required Minimum Skills:


    Proven senior level capabilities in Finance / HR Productivity / Benchmarking / Cost / Statistics / HR Analytics and associated data analysis.
    Capable of using critical thinking to assess executive customer requirements and transforming into relevant insights, executive storytelling using visual tools and developing effective project plans.
    Requires high attention to detail, deep business and data knowledge as well as thorough process expertise to connect strategy to technology in respective areas of expertise.
    Must be familiar with standard IT frameworks and be willing to obtain basic certifications such as Agile, ITSM or Scrum.
    Efficient and effective public speaker using clearly outlined presentations and industry insights.
