A Brief Overview
The Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) and Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Program Manager provides leadership for this Kennestone Regional Medical Center (KRMC) program to promote excellence in Patient Care. This leader will be responsible for program goals and operations regarding all aspects of the AHF/LVAD Program to include administrative leadership, oversight and direction of the clinical team including activities related to regulatory certification and accreditation, and quality and safety initiatives. The Program Manager will have oversight of process improvement projects and will lead and collaborate on publication and research opportunities. He or She will provide direction to establish, monitor and evaluate the quality of care given to our patients ensuring the highest quality of care guided by best practices. This role assumes responsibility for implementing, maintaining, reviewing, and revising standards of practice, program policies, and procedures. This position will plan, develop, and implement processes to support the sustainment and growth of the program to provide vision and goals to support current and future needs of our community. The program manager will collaborate with hospital and system leadership as well as Wellstar Medical Group and facility and program medical director/physicians.

Program, Regulatory and Compliance Management
This role assumes responsibility for program management of Kennestone Regional Medical Center's (KRMC) Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) and Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Program
In partnership with direct leader and Program Medical Director, the program manager will define scope of service, goals, and deliverables specific to KMRC's AHF/LVAD Program
The program manager will provide operational support for the strategic plans of the program including understanding target markets, clinical strategies, and how to assess operations to meet strategic goals. Must be open to new ideas, practices, processes, and strategies.
This leader will collaborate with their direct leader, Program Medical Director, physician providers, the WCCC Advanced Heart Failure Clinic at Kennestone, destination and procedural unit leaders, hospital and system senior leaders, and Wellstar Medical Group in the sustainment and growth of the AHF/LVAD Program.
They will provide direction and strategic planning including the attainment of short- and long-term goals for KRMC's AHF/LVAD Program
Oversee all program meetings to include weekly Patient Selection Committee, program strategy and operational meetings, and team member meetings.
Oversee INTERMACS Data Base and use to assess program opportunities and successes.
Oversee Program Sharepoint/Teams sites.
Oversee the development of program education for team members and patients/caregivers.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies including CLIA, DHR, Dept. of Labor, The Joint Commission, HIPAA, etc.
Oversight of Destination Therapy Certification with the Joint Commission including standard interpretation, program requirements, documentation, training of team members, monitoring, and validation of data collection and interpretation, on-site surveys and intracycle calls.
Analyze effectiveness of current documentation, workflows, and operational processes to identify opportunities for process and performance improvement partnering with the Lean Team ensuring the most effective use of resources.
Maintain performance standards mandated by external agencies.
Coordinate activities to adhere to internal regulatory compliance for WellStar Health System.
Maintain and present program status reports to include strengths, opportunities, improvements efforts, program statistics and growth, and guidelines.
Participate in performance improvement committees to include Cardiac Excellence, Quality Review, and Cardio-Pulmonary Support and others as appropriate.
Participate in identifying and executing on publication and research opportunities.
Oversee and participate in program outreach opportunities.
Oversight of community events involving the program.
Oversee and maintain performance improvement activities in compliance with Joint Commission standards.

Participates in the selection of qualified personnel for specific roles to support the program.
The program manager will develop and oversee execution of onboarding activities.
Monitors licenses and certifications of direct reports to ensure validity (non-expired)
The program manager must be committed to effective, accurate, and timely communication to team members.
Oversees assessment and development of direct reports through accountability, application of organizational policies, coaching, and ongoing and annual performance evaluation.
Prepare and guide direct reports regarding system and facility survey activity, i.e. GPTW, COSS, etc.
Assures compliance with system and facility policies and procedures, standards of practice, and documentation standards
Recognizes team members for achievements through positive feedback

Participate in budget planning and management of KRMC LVAD Equipment Cost Center
Collaborate with hospital and direct leader(s) along with finance business partner to strategize fiscal strength of the program and plan to growth.
In partnership with other leadership, the program manager will estimate resources needed to achieve program goals

Qualifications
Bachelors Nursing Required and(
Masters Nursing Preferred or
Masters Health Administration Preferred or)
Minimum 3 years Cardiac, Advanced Heart Failure and Left Ventricular Assist Device Required
Minimum 1 year Experience with accreditation and certification standards of the Joint Commission or other accreditation agency. Preferred
RN - Reg Nurse (Single State)
ANP - Adult Nurse Practitioner
BLS - Basic Life Support
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
